Jamie Schwerdtfeger (Member 61,027) was walking through Silvermine Nature Reserve, South Africa when she spotted orographic Stratocumulus clouds draped over Table Mountain like a tablecloth. Depending on your sources, these clouds form either because moisture-laden winds that flow in from the Atlantic cool as they pass over the plateaued terrain or because an eighteenth-century pirate called Van Hunks had a smoking competition with the Devil and won.
