38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.40. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.41. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.42. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.Acts 2:38-42 ππ» Peter with boldness preaching the Gospel of Jesus, for the remission of sins, this word, is "aphesis" in Greek, it means, released, pardon of sins, as if they were never committed, release from any penalty. This same action Jesus is doing this day. This promise is sure, as is the gift of the Holy Ghost, to all who God has called by invitation. To remove ourselves from this untoward generation, untoward in Greek is, "skolios," meaning curved or crooked, it has a meaning of living a perverse or wicked life. The change in Peter is evident, now you see 3,000 people changed, as written, they continued steadfast in the Lord's way. This to is happening in our day, I am living proof of Christ's salvation. Amen
