1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.2. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightiest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.5. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.6. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.Psalm 51:1-6ππ» Here the psalmist gives wise instructions, on how to behave, when one has fallen into sin. Fallen is a good description, for if sin is not dealt with others will follow. To seek Christ and His mercy, not to hide or deny sin. For this is why He came, to pardon, to blot out sin, and it's destruction, according to His mercy which is without measure. It is the blood of Christ that removes the stain, and punishment of sin, there is no other remedy. Confessing the transgressions are against God, even in secret, God sees. Seeking Christ's forgiveness, as the faithful Son, who took our sins on His own body. All are born into sin, we needed no teacher, we all fall short of God's glory. We have the inner man, that Christ came to save, and we need the truth of the Gospel, that Christ, can restore the hidden spirit, to walk in God's ways. Amen.
