20. We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
21. Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
22. Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? are not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
Jeremiah14:20-22??
Because the Lord's people, had turned themselves to idolatry, a great drought, came upon the land.
And in troubled times, the faithful few come to the Lord, in prayer.
Confessing, that we are sinners, like our fathers before us, and sin is against God.
And it is because of God's glory in Christ, that we are not cast off, because He cannot break the promise of salvation, because of His Holy Name, He is ever faithful, and we need to turn to Him.
Not one man made god, can see, hear, speak, or move on their own, nor have the any power, to bring rain during a drought.
Our God, who created all things, the heavens, and the earth, and the rain that falls on it, He speaks, sees, hears, and moves among us.
He also has the power, to rescue us, from destruction, because of our sin.
Therefore we shall wait for our Lord's return, come quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen.
