According to an as-yet un-peer-reviewed study, lab-grown meat is at least 25X more harmful to the environment than regular beef, this is primarily due to the purification process that the lab gown meat has to go through.
Animal cell-based meat (ACBM) is currently only produced on a very small scale and when this process is scaled up to an industrial scale, that's where the environmental issue arises, as the pharmaceutical-grade products that are used to remove endotoxins could create even more emissions than the current meat industry.
The most important question though is, would you eat lab-grown meat?
