Cloud Appreciation Society On a trip to Chilean Patagonia, Judy and her husband, Keith, were staying in a lakeside yurt in the Torres del Paine National Park. In the morning, they were greeted by Stratocumulus undulatus radiatus clouds. Stratocumulus is the general classification used for any lower cloud made of solid-looking masses in layers or extended patches. Undulatus refers to their wavelike rows, and radiatus to the way these rows seem to converge towards the horizon due to perspective. In the stillness of the new day, the undisturbed mirror-like lake water served up the cloudscape in the form of a double helping.
