4. Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkind-nesses; for they have been ever of old.
7. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgress-
ions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
8. Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
Psalm 25:4-8
The heart of the psalmist, desires, instructions from the Lord, the path of duty, worship, the way of grace, and mercy, and truth. These we are not born with, and we begin to sin, soon after being born.
The God of our salvation has provided instruction, and inspiration, in the Gospel message. Able to make the simple wise in the ways of God.
It also provides knowledge of God's personality, His mercy, forgiveness, and pardoning, because He loves us.
Sins, and transgression,
rebellion, all covered in Christ's blood, cannot be seen, nor remembered, cast as far as the east is from the west.
And the Spirit who teaches, and brings us to repentance, the Lord is the Way, He Himself walked in righteousness, and became sin who knew no sin, and took our punishment so we would not perish. And His way is open to every one who repents. Amen.
