1. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?2. How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?3. Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;4. Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.5. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.6. I was sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.Psalm 13:1-6 The psalmist teaches us, that when God does not move immediately to deliver us from our affliction, or from the oppression of Satan, when we think His blessing have failed. We believe we are forgotten, or that God has hid His face from us. But it is our sin, that has separated us from God, and that we must acknowledge. Christ has come, and suffered, and died, for the payment of our sin, how could He forget us, when He gave all He had, to forgive us. Christ has reached down and pulled me out of destruction, with His very own blood, I have, like the psalmist, put my trust in Christ, my faith, my hope, and am comforted, in His salvation. I will rejoice, because Christ has dealt bountifully with me, in that Satan was not able to triumph over me. Only the dead need to be revived, and I was dead in sin, Christ put His Light in my soul. His mercy and righteousness have clothed me. And I am His, purchased by His blood. My sorrow now has turned to joy. Amen.
