2. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.3. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.4. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.5. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.6. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. Luke 22:2-6 ππ» Luke makes certain that we understand that Judas, one of the twelve, who witnessed the miracles of Christ, and was of them, of the seventy two, sent out by Christ, to heal the sick, cast out demons, and preach the Gospel, the good news, that Christ had come to save the souls of men. This Judas, having a heart enticed by Satan, who now valued money over his own soul, sought out those who would pay him, and promised to deliver Christ to them. The eternal soul, so valued by Christ that He would suffer and die, that we could be with Him, who created us. Sold for money, who could think money, could replace the peace of a soul, bought by the blood of our Savior. Amen.
