1. Out on the depths have I cried unto thee,O LORD.
2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3. If thou, LORD shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Psalm 130:1-5
We learn from the psalmist, as he cried out from the depths of the bondage of sin, so must we.
He cried for deliverance, his hope was in God, he looks for a supply of grace and mercy.
Without Christ, none would be able to stand before the Almighty, seeing we have all fallen short.
Yet, because Christ took sins burden in His own body, we have forgiveness and are pardoned.
The psalmist seeks Christ the Light of the world, to bring him out of the darkness of destruction, he waits, body and soul, patiently, confidently, knowing the Lord will refuse none, that repentant and turn to Him. Amen.
