5. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.6. Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.7. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.8. Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. Psalm 86:5-8 The psalmist speaks of Christ, sinless, perfect in every way, the Son of the most high God. Forgiveness and pardon, come by way of the cross. And who is able to exhaust the mercies of God. The psalmist knew Christ, by faith, and was very confident his prayers were heard. Among the gods there is none like God, Creator, Savior, Redeemer, Healer, King, and Priest to the Lord's people. Idols have no power to answer, nor to do good or evil, to harm or to save. The Lord, strong and mighty, able to create from nothing, all things, seen and unseen. His mighty works, in creation, is marvellous, yet we benefit for all eternity, Christ's great work of the salvation of men. Amen.
