1. Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.2. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.3. And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor script, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.4. And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.5. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.6. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. Luke 9:1-6 ππ» We have Luke as an eye witness to these events. Christ having the power and authority of God, is able to give this to His disciples, Luke being one, and also Judas, who betrayed Him. And they went out preaching the Gospel, and healing the sick. They needed not to take the things men take on a journey, weapons for protection, money, to buy provisions, extra clothing. Seeing Christ sent them and was able to supply all their needs. And they were forbidden to go from house to house, so as not to seek a more comfortable environment. And if the dust of a city would testify against those who refused His messengers, how much more to all who refuse Christ, up to this very day. And they were obedient, going preaching the Gospel, and healing every where. Again, Luke is a witness, he is one of the twelve, as also Judas, and they went preaching and healing. Yet, Judas, having experienced this mighty work, at a later date, he takes his mind off Christ, and Satan comes into him, and his end is destruction, nothing has changed. Christ died for all, but those who refuse Him, shall be destroyed. Come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen.
