1. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2. How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3. Consider and hear me O LORD my God: lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4. Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Psalm 13:1-6
The psalmist shows our weakness, in that God does not move immediately in our affliction, we believe we are forgotten.
Or that Christ would hide His face from His creations.
There is nothing worse then to listen to the sorrow of one's own heart, for you will find nothing but despair, seek the Creator, who has the answer of the end of a matter, before it begins.
Sin will bring sorrow, it will surely separate from God, yet the Almighty knowing we are dust, has sent Christ to save us.
Therefore, Satan, shall not exalt himself against the people of God, seeing, Christ defeated him on the Cross.
The psalmist seeks restoration from sin, to be forgiven, and such will be to all who seek Christ.
The defeated enemy has no power over the children of God, if we have been moved off the narrow way, confess, repent, get back on the path, continue in your journey to the heavenly kingdom, where Christ awaits, with your reward.
Then you shall sing the song of the redeemed, with praise and thanksgiving, to Christ, who by His death, has given us, eternal life, in His kingdom.
Amen.
