1. O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in the hot displeasure.
2. Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3. My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?
4. Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: save me for thy mercies' sake.
5. For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks.
Psalm 6:1-5 πŸ™πŸ»
The psalmist reminds us, that because of sin, the Lord, may rebuke us. And bring us to acknowledge our transgressions.
Sin deserves punishment, but God does not deal with wrath, we could have been consumed during our commission of any sin.
Yet, because Christ has taken that burden in His own body, we have an eternal pardon that cannot be revoked.
The psalmist was aware of his sin, and we are responsible to confess ours.
We sin through weakness, and we must constantly lean on the Savior, for He knows how to live holy without sin.
The Lord forgives, and returns to us, ready to restore, and bless.
What we do for Christ, must be done now, what good is a dead man to others?
There is no repentance from the grave, neither is there praise. Amen.
