46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?47. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:48. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.49. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; ,and the ruin of the house was great. Luke 6:46-49🙏🏻 Luke shares Christ's views on two types of followers. Some acknowledge His Lordship in words by addressing Him as Lord. Claiming interest in Him. But do not His commands, neither do they the Father's will who sent Him. Therfore they shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven, nor receive His reward. The sinner moved by Christ, will dig deep into the word of God, and find the foundation of Christ the Rock. And His salvation. Revealed in the Gospel. And when the floods of temptations from Satan, beat against his soul, it will not be shaken, nor carried away, for his soul is anchored to the Rock of Ages. But the sinner with no foundation shall be flooded with temptations, and carried away to destruction, and eternal ruin, for he has built his soul on sinking sand. Amen.
