31. And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.32. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.33. And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,34. Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.35. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. Luke 4:31-35 Jesus coming down the hill from Nazareth, enters Capernaum, and on the Sabbath day, teaches the people. And they are amazed at His teaching, because He taught with authority, and with powerful works, healing miracles, followed His teaching. And His words penetrated their hearts. Luke is witnessing, Christ, being confronted with a unclean spirit, as all spirits from Satan are. And the spirit knows Christ, unlike the religious leaders, who knew Him not. And the spirit cries out, Let us alone, speaking of all other spirits that were under Satan. And Jesus says, Hold thy peace, meaning, be thou muzzled. Christ not needing any witness from a demon. And the demon came out, the man was preserved, even his soul. There are demons in this world today, what person could shoot up a school, or church, without such evil influence. There are some devils we have invited into our lives, by choice, but they bring other's, who are very destructive. Each man barely knows his own wickedness. The very proof, how much we need Christ's salvation and grace. Amen.
