8. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!9. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.10. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;11. Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: 12. Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.13. Then they cried unto the LORD in the trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.14. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and break their bands in sunder.Psalm 107:8-14 That men have received salvation through Christ, is all the reason they need to praise Him. The body suffers hunger and thirst, but the soul longs for Christ, the Creator. Sinners are bound to sin, and death, with chains of iron, with no escape in sight. Because they rebell against God's law, and His counsel. They are brought low, with the weight of sin, and no man can help. But when they cry out to the Savior, Christ the Lord, He will save them, and deliver them from destruction, and death. By the Cross, He has broken the bands that have bound men to sin, and set them free, from Satan, and sin's darkness, and brought them into His marvellous Light. Amen.
