1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkind-ness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgress-ions.2. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3. For I acknowledge my transgressions:and my sin is ever before me. 4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightiest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51:1-5 It is by the mercy of Christ, and His goodness, His sinless life, His blood, that our sins are blotted out, to be remembered no more. Christ's forgiveness, and pardon, His cleansing blood, are sure and complete. We need only acknowledge our sinful state, that our sin is against our Creator. Then we must trust Christ's, sacrifice of His life for our redemption. For all were born in sin, all have fallen short, all need Christ, to receive eternal life, and escape the punishment we deserve. Amen
