5. And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.6. Having yet therefore one son, his well- beloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.7. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.'8. And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.9. What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandman, and will give the vineyard unto others.10. And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 11. This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Mark 12:5-11 Mark relates a story told by Jesus. A man planted a vineyard, put people in charge, and at the time of harvest, sent his servants, to receive his due. This is a picture of Christ, the vineyard is Israel, the husbandmen, the religious rulers. God sent prophets to bring Israel, back onto the right path. They killed some, beat others. So Christ the Son of God comes, to save them from destruction, but He is rejected and murdered on the cross. So they can live their own way, not God's. So salvation is taken from them and given to the Gentiles. Christ is the foundation of His church, He is the Head, sinless, and the only acceptable payment for sin's judgment. All who seek Christ, will be saved, their eyes opened to His ways. Amen.
