1. The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.2. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.3. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times.4. A wicked an adulterous generation seekerh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matthew 16 1-4 🙏🏻 The religious leaders, unsatisfied by Christ's miracles, seek a sign in the heavens. They would see the sun or moon stand still, as in the days of Joshua. Christ, answers them, about how they read the sky, we have a similar phrase in our time, Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in morning, sailor take warning. Their hatred of Christ, blinded them, from seeing, that Christ was their hope, and the one spoken of, who was to come. The complete corruption of their heart, seeking to get Christ to do the supernatural at their bidding, with out any commitment to Him. Christ tells them, the only sign they will get is from another prophecy, that as Jonah, was in the belly of the fish 3 days, Christ would rise from death on the 3rd day, but these religious leaders would be left harden and incurable, because they did not believe in Him. Amen.
