1. Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
2. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3. But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Psalm 115:1-4
There is no glory due men, seeing we have fallen short. But glory belongs to God, it is the honor due Him, for in Him is perfection in this world and the next.
The mercy of God, provides salvation through Christ the Lord, deliverance, pardon, justification, regeneration, are the truth, we receive.
The heathen do not know God, will not seek Him, yet they would slander the people of God, asking where He is in their time of trouble.
Christ has promised never to leave or forsake us, I will glory in that, all His promises are yes, and let it be so.
Christ's followers know Him, and where He is.
That He is Creator of all things, and Savior, Redeemer, King, and Priest.
The idols of the heathen are built with the elements that Christ created in the beginning, so they are a lie and not God. Having no power to save or do harm.
The work of sinful men, they are polluted, and a stumbling block to those who are lost.
Christ created men, they sinned and became separated from God, Christ came to restore what was lost because of sin. And He fulfilled His mission on the Cross. Amen.
