36. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Matthew 10:
36-40 πŸ™πŸ»
Matthew in this chapter recalls Christ very own words.
A man's foes will be from his own house. In the early ages of the church and in the latter days, family members will report the followers of Christ to authorities, to save their own lives.
No follower of Christ, can put anyone in front of Christ, for salvation is only in Christ.
If Christ suffered, we are not above the Master and we shall suffer also.
Those who reject Christ to have a temporary stay from death, shall inherit eternal damnation. Those that hold fast to Christ at the cost of life, shall enter eternal peace and joy.
All who receive a messenger of Christ, receive Christ, and all who receive Christ, receive the Almighty God, who sent.
In these fews verses, Christ has laid out our duty. Amen.
