1. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.2. He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.3. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, as a tottering fence.4. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.5. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Psalm 62:1-5 The psalmist waits on God, he knows there is no salvation, without Christ. He knows Christ the Rock, the sure fondation of his salvation, his defense against the enemy, and he shall not be moved off this Rock. His salvation being also in this life, all who seek him harm, are like a crumbling wall, or rickety fence, just the opposite of a firm foundation. As you stand on Christ the Rock, many will come to move you off, but Christ will never leave you, their lies or curses, cannot do you harm, Christ is you defense. As the psalmist, wait on God, the soul yearns to return to the Creator, all you expect from Him, He is able to supply, there is no other like Him, Saviour, Redeemer, King. Amen.
