2. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.3. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blaspheme.4. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?5. For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?6. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.7. And he arose, and departed to his house. Matthew 9:2-7 We see that Jesus motivated by faith, seeks the eternal reward for His creations, over temporary conditions. And the Scribes, the copiers of the law and teachers, who should have know Christ in a personal way, because of the scriptures, dare not rebuke Him publicly, but speak against Him in their heart. Now nothing can be hidden from God, so Jesus confronts their evil thoughts. Christ clears Himself of the charge of blasphemy, saying which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven, or arise and walk. Mortal men have no power to access either phrase. Yet both are easy to God. So giving them visible proof, Christ says "Arise, and walk." And there is not a devil in all creation, that could keep the man on his bed. For he arose and went to his house. Now there are many who could benefit from a miracle like this, allow Christ to repair the eternal part of you destroyed by sin, and we will be able to rejoice in our affliction, knowing at the end, we will be eternally with Christ. Amen.
