View MoreI completely DISAGREE that TERM LIMITS will accomplish ANYTHING but the destruction of our republic!!!! The problem with electing socialists to Congress is NOT CONNECTED WITH the length of terms or how many they serve! Don't conservatives and patriots revere and respect the deliberations of that wisest group of men assembled in our modern era... the Founding Fathers of our republic? When are we going to RALLY and INSIST on REPEALING the 17th Amendment and once again let our State Legislatures DO their designed work to elect (with recorded votes) their State's 2 US Senators? The 17th Amendment did more to convert us FROM a republic TO a "democracy" by allowing the Senate (the sovereign state's chamber) to be elected by the same class of emotional and ignorant (trained by the state in their schools) voters that vote for members of the House of Representatives! When will be STOP being just one more caterpillar walking right behind the other "conservative" caterpillar, right into the very hands of the globalists that are leading the less-than-studious "patriot"? ISN'T IT EQUALLY insane when you think about how, just over the subject of drinking alcohol, that we passed the 18th Amendment and then in just a matter of 3 years, REPEALED it with the 21st Amendment --- YET --- we also passed the 16th Amendment in 1913, the infamous Income Tax Amendment, to fund WWI as a temporary tax that wasn't to exceed 3% and IS PLANK NUMBER TWO of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto written in 1848 --- and we HAVE not RALLIED to through OUT that LARGE agenda item of the father of Communism in the 110 years since it's (arguably illegal) approval!!! I'll trust OUR FOUNDING FATHERS on the subject of "Term Limits" if it's ADVOCATES will publicly DECLARE their ADAMANT DEMANDS to REPEAL both the 16th and 17th Amendments and put Washington, DC BACK IN BALANCE by recognizing our state governments as a critical voice in controlling the whipsawed emotionalism of "people-elected" House members! Funny, isn't it... that I DON'T hear ONE word from term limit advocates on the subject of REPEALING all Amendments and "illegally passed" unconstitutional "laws" that are clearly part of the 10 Planks contained in the Communist Manifesto! If term-limit advocates were such great patriots, why would they "tinker" with our Constitution using an ineffective "band-aid" on the boil of public IGNORANCE? Will term-limiters also include the REPEAL of Marx"s 10 Plank - that of "free education for all children in public schools"... will they? Let me make this important point! Let's say you live in a Congressional District that consistently votes for veritable Communists to "represent them". Then, when their 3 terms are over, they campaign and endorse their replacement Communist candidate (while nearly all candidates of of their same ilk)! Won't the entire communist staff of the former Rep be hired by the "new" Rep? You see... term limits is a RUSE and a NEUTRALIZER of patriots!!!! If terms limits are approved (REQUIRING A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT) approved by the legislatures of 3/4 of the State Legislatures, EVERY single currently elected Rep & Senator will be unaffected because they will be 'grandfathered' in under the old law! How many decades will it take to defeat THOSE INCUMBENTS if they don't DIE in office? And HOW MANY patriots will DEEMPHASIZE their civic duty to STAY ABREAST of Congress's votes and their own Reps, thinking that Term Limits promised us a MAJOR FIX to the ASSEMBLY of DISHONEST, forked-tongue professional politician who LIED WHEN they took their Oaths of Office? If YOU are one voter that can CATEGORICALLY state today that term limits won't make you be LESS CIVICALLY ACTIVE after passage... then you also realize that term limits WON'T MAKE any meaningful systemic difference in the makeup of either or both Chambers! So, WHY waste your time pushing a Con-Con or COS (Convention of States) that will destroy every vestige of what our Founding Fathers fought and sacrificed so hard to GIVE TO US ???
