19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth no rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:21. For where your treasure is, there where your heart be also.22. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore for thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.23. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Matthew 6 19-23 ππ» The gathering of wealth in its self is not forbidden. But to gather and accumulate a vast load of riches, for personal use, and avoid the use for the good of others, is greed, and is corrupt. It is also vulnerable to theft and destruction, and is a temporary pleasure, not meant to last. Treasures stored in heaven, are eternal, what is done for Christ, shall not be overlooked or forgotten. Out of reach of evil, all the promises and rewards of Christ are sure and safe. Where your treasure is there is where your heart will be. Earthly treasure is temporary, and cannot leave the earth. All work for Christ has rewards, they are eternal, they cannot be stored on earth, but reside in heaven. They cannot be stolen or destroyed. The eyes and ears are the learning gates of men. If your eye is single, letting in the Light of Christ, your goals, motives, actions, shall be genuine, and darkness can find no place. But if what you learn is sin, a small, a very small amount, separates from God, and darkness consumes the light, the question asked, how great is that darkness, is it taking you to eternal darkness, only you know, in truth, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 This is why we need Jesus. Amen.
