🇺🇲WWII uncovered: 🎂 Happy 107th Birthday to Tuskegee Airman 1st Lt James Clayton Flowers 🎂
Please join us in wishing First Lieutenant James Clayton Flowers a Happy 107th Birthday and a Merry Christmas. Born on December 25, 1915 in Las Cruces New Mexico, James was a pilot with the 99th Fighter Squadron, 332nd Fighter Group for five years.
After the war, James started a family with his wife Evelyn and began teaching with the New York City Public School District where he was a leader in the United Federation of Teachers. After retirement James and his family relocated to New Mexico.
In retirement, James continued his legacy of service by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, the NAACP and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Last year the Buffalo Soldier Motorcycle Club in El Paso organized a caravan and drive by celebration in honor of Flowers' special day. Flowers is one of the oldest members of the Las Cruces parish.
We wish you the happiest of Birthdays James and a grateful nation thanks you for a lifetime of service.
