The full moon is said to have a huge effect on mermaids. They can be hypnotized and almost entranced by the full moon, they usually appear at night since they originally belong to Selene. But don't pay attention to this, maybe I'm just as crazy as the thousands of authors of all this evidence and all those who narrate having had an encounter with both mermaids and mermaids.
