3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.
7. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.
Isaiah 40:3-8 ??
This voice is John the Baptist, written, 600 years before John began his ministry.
He prepared the way, for our Lord, in preaching repentance from sin, baptism, and preparing ones heart to meet Christ.
Those crushed under the weight of sin, would be lifted up, and those lifted up in pride, and their own righteousness, would be brought down, doctrines which were not understood, would become plain and easy.
Christ is the Glory of God, and both Jew and Gentile, saw Him in the flesh. And heard from His own mouth, the Gospel message.
The voice of prophesy, tells Isaiah to decree, all flesh is grass, and is weak and fading, like a flower, it's beauty, is quickly gone, yet our Savior, took on this form, for our salvation.
Christ is the only salvation, from death, and the punishment, for sin.
The Word of God stands forever, though all oppose it, it prevails, and when men perish, it raises them to everlasting life, none shall be able to suppress it, ever. It also means, that every promise of God is, yes, and let it be so. Forever settled in heaven, and always fulfilled, unfailing. Amen.
