8. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
10. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
11. Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the councel of the most High:
12. Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
13. Then they cried into the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
Psalm 107:8-13
Yes, men should praise the Lord, for His calling in the Gospel message, His redemption by His grace, for every spiritual blessing, and everything we need each day.
Only God can satisfy the soul, He created it, and it longs to return to Him. Only God has what the soul needs, and all who long for Christ will find Him, and be filled.
Before Christ we sat in darkness, the shadow of death and judgment, hanging overhead, with everything we deserved. But Christ has paid that debt, He is worthy of all praise.
For all who are oppressed by Satan, need just call out to the Lord in faith, and He hearing shall save them, from all distresses, from all their sins, from the curse of the law, from His wrath to come, from hell, and death, and Christ shall bring them into His marvelous Light, where darkness cannot be. Amen.
