Montana Wolf tracksPhotos taken 5 years ago up a forest service road in the Bitterroot near Darby. The photographer had a 117 pound border collie cross, a small chihuahua and a .38 pistol. The day was warm, they walked about two miles up the road & circled back. It was only a few moments on the return trip before they noticed they had had another walker with them, following quietly up the road behind them.It is hard to imagine the size of this animal.Photo one shows dog's print, the wolf, and the photographer's hand.
