1. Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2. They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
3. The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
4. Who have said, With our tongues will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
5. For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
Psalm 12:1-5 πŸ™πŸ»
The psalmist, seeks his help from God, seeing men cannot help like the Lord, when friends and saints fail, our God is faithful.
Christ is Lord, of the godly and faithful, if they are surrounded by carnal, unregenerated, ungodly men, Christ's followers will prevail.
Though the ungodly speak lies, and speak against the word of God, their speech is vain and empty, powerless, and corrupt.
The Lord who hears, shall cut them off.
Who say, our lips are our own, who will rule over us, we will say what we please.
The tongue a little member, but is a fire, a world of iniquity, that defiles the whole body.
The servants of God, cry out to Him, He hears, and He is a God of action.
Christ is our Salvation, He saves from sin and death, and from those who speak against you, for you are His, redeemed with His blood, for ever. Amen.
