my dad, when he and his friends were teenagers, would use flat bladed screwdrivers to quietly pry off hub caps. then, put a handful of gravel in the cap and quietly reattach them. from what i understand it was a hoot. this would have been late 40’s early 50’s when baby moon hub caps were so popular.
