11. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
14. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:11-14 πŸ™πŸ»
The unmerited favor of God, (grace), that brings salvation to all who receive it, and are transformed, into the new man in Christ, has appeared at the Cross.
And in that transformation, comes new priorities, moving in a direction away from sin, and out of darkness, into Christ's marvelous Light.
And from that time, attention is given to our Great God, and Savior Christ the Lord, awaiting His triumphant return, not as a helpless child, but a Victorious King.
Who gave Himself, where have you ever heard, that a god, died, so his subjects could live. Truly Christ died, and paid for our sins, and we have been purified by His blood.
This word, peculiar, in Greek, is defined, as, a people selected by God from other nations for His own possession.
We have been bought by Christ's blood, we are His possession, and as such, we should be committed to doing good, and flee from all evil work. Amen.
