1. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.2. And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.3. For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.4. Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.5. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the works of thy hands.6. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirstest after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. Psalm 143:1-6 The psalmist prays with faith, that not only God hears, but will answer him. Because God is faithful. No man living can be justified, because of sin. And the law cannot show mercy, only, guilt or innocence. But those who are dead in Christ, have salvation, not living to the world, but to Christ. Satan, persecuted, the psalmist, and he was overwhelmed, brought very low, some us can understand this very well, but he encouraged himself in the Lord Christ, Creator, Savior, Redeemer, Promise Keeper, King over all kings, the psalmist was a king. And Christ is Lord, over every lord. This word muse, used only once in KJV, in Hebrew, is defined, study, ponder, meditate. See how the psalmist's attitude has changed, filled with memories of God's faithfulness, the psalmist puts forth both hands ready to receive, and his soul is ready to soak up all the Lord gives, as dessert ground, soaks up water. The word Selah, means, pause, listen, and think on this. Amen.
