1. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3 🙏🏻 This verse is spoken, in Luke 4:17-21, by Christ, in the synagogue on the sabbath day, telling them, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." Christ anointed by the Father, to preach salvation to the lost. Being filled with the Spirit and grace without measure. To those broken in sin, held captive by Satan. By the Cross, defeating Satan, and freeing all bound by sin, and death. Early is the acceptable time of salvation, for Christ took the vengeance of sin, in His own body, to bring comfort to all who are filled with sorrow for their sins. It is Christ's fulfillment of the law, and His death, that as our bodies turn back to dust, we shall rise unto eternal beauty. We will have joy, covered in Christ's righteousness, rooted in Christ, that Christ, because of His work, shall be glorified. Amen.
