12. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;13. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.14. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.15. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3:12-15 ππ» Our beloved Paul in his letter to the church at Colossae. Set out several duties related to all Christians. As the (elect) of God, this word in Greek is defined as picked out by God, for salvation in Christ Jesus. Therefore we are dead in Christ to this world and it's influence. Having put on the new man, with a new heart, our behavior, should not return to the condition we were rescued from. This is a hard thing to change, our nature, and must be submitted to Christ, for renewal. Setting our thoughts, desires, on eternal things, which is the reward of the faithful, putting behind us, the works, and transgressions of this world, looking with love, unto Christ, who has made us new. Placing others before ourselves, as Christ put us, before Himself. Being all one body in Christ, we are all equal, yet having different duties. Brotherly love, being the most valuable, to be shared with all. Without it we will be shown contrary to the Gospel of Christ, being hypocrites, unfit, for the reward prepared. Amen
