1. God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.2. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.4. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.Psalm 46:1-5 ππ» If we were not under attack, we would need no refuge. If we were not weak, we would not need to be strengthened. Christ is God, in the form of a man we run to. Our souls fly to Him for safety, and spiritual strength. The Lord is able to help, inward or outward, soul or body. Therefore if the earth is destroyed, by flood or earthquake, the righteous in Christ have nothing to fear, He is their Redeemer and Savior. This river of God, can be the Gospel, it's stream of living water, and doctrine. The Living water, the Lord Himself, the head of the river is the heart of God, the channel is Christ, and eternal life. The streams of the river, are all the blessings and promises of God, fulfilled in Christ. Redemption, Pardon, Forgiveness, Regeneration, Adoption, all God's Grace, and eternal life. The city of God, filled with saints of God, because, they have been redeemed, paid for in blood by Christ, these can never be plucked out of Christ's hand, their safety is sure. Amen.
