14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?15. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.18. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.2 Corinthians 14-18 ππ» Many have understood this passage as not to marry and unbeliever. But Paul is not speaking of such, read 1 Corinthians 7, and he said if your married to an unbeliever, do not divorce them. So as we go further in to the passage, he mentions no fellowship with unrighteousness, no communion with darkness. Not mixing Christ with evil. And what will your belief mean to a person who refuses Christ. Here is the focus, we are the temple of God. And He dwells in us in the person of the Holy Ghost. So what is forbidden here is the joining with them that worship idols. If the Spirit of God dwells in you, who can you go to that is greater than He. Who has His power and might. But more, can they forgive your sin, and redeem you, if not, than you do God an injustice, when you say His Spirit is in you but you pray to idols. Anything put in between God and you, is an idol. It is so. The Lord's words not mine, separate yourselves from this evil, and God will receive you. His promise, I will be your Father. Amen
