Simple , buy another thermostat & hook it up , youtube has videos on this easy job.. Leave the battery in the crappy one & no one will be the wiser.. Even better , mail theirs back to them & cancel the program..

Disconnect your wifi and set tstat to desired temp. Problem solved

I actually can't stand public utility companies that use taxpayer money sell bonds to build dams wind farm solar fields to build a business that they profit off of they tax us to cover all this then charge us for the services some things should be socialized
