23. For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24. And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
1 Corinthians
11:24 -26 πŸ™πŸ»
This is Christ's last passover spent with His disciples. Paul gives the revelation that he received from Christ, that Christ gave thanks for bread, to His Father, then brake it, as a symbol of what His body would go through, the bread did not change into Christ's body. But we are feed spiritually by our faith in Christ.
After the passover meal, Christ gave thanks to His Father, and said this is the new testament in my blood, the old covenant was ratified by the blood of bulls, Christ shed His blood to cover our sins, and only once and the covering is for all time, not needing to be repeated like with the bulls.
As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, not the passover meal, or any bread or wine, but this set aside to remind us of what it cost Christ, to redeem us, it is not easy to sin, when you have the memory of this fixed in you mind. This is to be done often, not once a year, as the passover.
Keeping fresh all that Christ has done, we must not leave off His promise, that He is coming again for us, let us be found faithful, we are in debt to Christ, for it is only His blood that cleansed us from our sin. Amen.
