The last thing we should consider is as we all well know, the weather is never truly perfect. We can have cloudy days and/or snowy wet or rainy weather. Solar harvesting is not at its optimum when weather isn't perfect. So, how do we charge our solar generator without a nice sunny day? With this in mind, we need to have an alternative. This AC shore power is an important alternative. Especially if we have a gas generator. Simply plug it in while we are powering other needs and the charging will begin. Other considerations, such as your camping and have power so you could be charging in the evening, while sleeping, and ready for a new adventure with portable power when you awaken. We have many battery chargers available, and you may even have one with you at home. Some considerations when purchasing one, which we will then install into our project here is the chemistry of your battery and the total amperage that you can charge with. Another consideration is to have a multi chemistry battery charger so you can use it in case of an emergency to say charge your car battery. We have several of these batteries around thus it seemed nice it was detachable quickly and could be used outside of the project.
