12. What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
14. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
15. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
16. O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
Psalm 116:
12-16 πŸ™πŸ»
The psalmist asks, what could we give to God, or how could we reimburse Him, for all He has done for us.
We come short, for you cannot buy what is given free. With thanksgiving we receive the salvation offered at the Cross.
Keeping the vows that come with the new life, repentance, dying daily to the old nature, living to Christ our Lord.
Precious is our death to the Lord, for we are not exempt from the way all men must go. But the sting of eternal punishment has been quenched, by the Blood of Christ, and this body of sin must return to dust.
We were justified by Christ, just as if we never sinned. We are sanctified by Spirit daily conforming us to Christ image. And when we die those in Christ, will be glorified, by the Father.
The servant of God, has been freed from the influence of Satan, from the prison of sin, and death.
Christ has done this, and to Him be all praise, and thanksgiving.
Amen.
