24. And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
26. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
27. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know thou believest.
28. Then Agrippa, said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Acts 26:24-28
Paul speaking before King Herod Agrippa, explains why he was arrested, because he preached Christ crucified, and that Christ arose out of His tomb.
This discourse, shows how a carnal and unregenerated mind cannot receive the Gospel.
King Herod was familiar with the Jewish law and was able to judge properly.
Herod was aware of Christ's crucifixion, and His being raised from the grave.
This is the same Herod, who killed James, and imprisoned Peter.
Herod so close to salvation, cannot leave his noble status, to become a follower of Christ.
It is God who brings you to Christ, because His mercy is great. There is no man or woman born, who can reveal the mystery of the Gospel, this is of the Spirit.
Not one person was born worthy of eternal life, Christ, made it possible. Amen.
