11. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
Psalm 34:11-15
The psalmist gives instructions, all of us need to be taught, God's ways, so we do not run to destruction.
To reverence the Lord, is our first lesson, everything else, will be built on this.
The natural life is desired by all, long, joyful, healthy, prosperous.
But to have all these, and loose the life to come, is a disaster, that cannot be compensated.
The eyes of the Lord, are surely on all who put their trust in Christ, being covered in the Savior's righteousness, is a sure guarantee of your reward.
Amen.
