16. And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,17. And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.18. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.19. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.20. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.21. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. John 6:16-21ππ» Some may see this part of John's Gospel as a fabel. It is proof that Christ is the God man. For before the disciples set sail, they had picked up 12 baskets of leftovers from 5 loaves and 2 fishes that fed 5000. The disciples left with out Jesus, and set sail at dark, a great wind began to blow, and they had to drop the sail and begin to row.. They are about 3 and a half miles out, when around 3am, they see something on the water, and are afraid. A few words from Christ, "It is I.", and their fear is quenched. How much more us, when Jesus said, He would never leave us or forsake us. This chapter 6 shows 3 works that could not be done by any man, feed 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 small fish, rebuking the stormy sea to a calm, and transporting the ship to their destination in an instant. This is evident that Christ possessed power. Yet He laid it aside and went to the cross to pay our debt for sin. When you know Him, you will love Him, and obey His Word. Amen.
