33. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.34. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.35. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Luke 11:33-35 As a light, not hidden in a secret place, so was Christ's teaching. Christ taught out in the open. As the eyes receive light, and guide the body, giving it direction, so the Gospel gives understanding to the soul, and guidance. The body being full of light is a picture of a soul, which has a clear understanding of the Gospel message, the eye of understanding opened and enlightened by the Spirit of God. The soul is moved in a single direction, and is full of the Light of Christ, with joy and comfort. Take heed not to despise the Messenger, or the message, but attend to the Gospel of Christ, for in it is your salvation and everlasting life. Amen.
