31. And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32. They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and you have not danced; we have more into you, and ye have not wept.
33. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
34. The Son of man is come eating and drinking wine; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
35. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Luke 7:31-35 πŸ™πŸ»
These are Jesus's words, He does not say that the men are innocent as children.
Yet He paints a picture of children playing.
The children that pipe, are a picture of Christ, preaching the joyful Gospel of Salvation.
The children that mourn, are a picture of John's preaching of repentance.
Both of these were rejected by the religious leaders, Scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees.
Christ associated with the people of the world and they were converted, and became heirs of eternal life.
The wisdom of the children, are those who seek Christ, and in doing so, become wise in doing good.
Amen, thank you Jesus, we love You, because You first loved us. Dying to save those lost in darkness, of which I was one. Amen.
