12. What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?13. I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.14. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.15. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.16. O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hath loosed my bonds.17. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. Psalm 116:12-17ππ» The psalmist brings up the question, what can we give back to God for all He has done for us. We are in debt, helpless to return to God any good thing. Yet we may take the cup of His salvation in Christ and drink, and taste the Lord's goodness. Being now made clean in Christ's blood, we may call upon the name of the Lord, who before was a stranger to us. But now a Father. Man was not created to die, but the price of sin is expensive, and blood is the price. The servant of the Lord does not fear death, for Christ has given him a promise of eternal life, guaranteed by Christ's resurrection. Therefore all the servants of Christ, will offer thanksgiving, being loosed from the bondage of sin and death. Hallelujah.
