76. And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77. To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78. Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79. To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:76-79 πŸ™πŸ»
Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, speaking by the Holy Ghost, prophesied of John, in these verses.
John prepared the way for Jesus's ministry.
Giving knowledge of salvation, by the removing of sin by Christ.
Christ is the tender mercy of God, coming in the form of a man. The Dayspring, translated from Greek, a rising light, this is the Light, where in you walk, no darkness of sin can be. The Light, to a world of darkness and death, Christ has come, to show us the way of life eternal, to guide us to the way of peace with God, the word peace here in Greek is translated, the Messiah's peace, Jesus, without Him, there is no peace with God, without Him you walk in darkness and death. Amen
